Comment on AFI's top 100 Movie Quotes

Agh. These lists, they're so meaningless.
I agree, yet I'm uncontrollably interested in them nonetheless.
Okay, I think these are pointless too. Also, some of these are just plain stupid:

For instance... "Houston, we have a problem" - Give me an F***ing break. This is a great quote from history, not the movie. I mean come on, the person who said that was in serious trouble of losing his life in the vast emptiness of space. The fact that the movie chose to imortalize those words is only fitting to give proper homage...

And I agree there are some quotes from Star Wars seriously missing from this list, but also ... oh never mind, the whole list is pointles...
Actually, I agree with "Houston, we have a problem." I look at the list as the most memorable quotes, so the lines that sort of seep into the public consciousness, that get requoted, misquoted and parodied a lot really have a place on the list, regardless of the original source of the line. The Houston line qualifies (although since it was also the tagline of the movie, it's as much memorable for its marketing value as it is for the line itself).

Incidentally, I gotta give props for recognizing this exchange (#79) from Airplane:

Striker: Surely you can't be serious.
Rumack: I am serious — and don't call me Shirley.
But they left out my favorite line from Star Wars:

LUKE
I care...

Ok. 'Show me the money' shouldn't be on there. That movie was lame. And of all the lines from When Harry Met Sally, they chose 'I'll have what she's having'? Come on, now.
Your site is realy very interesting.
