An interesting and touching story... Bridge of Love looks pretty hard to get ahold of these days. Has your family considered republishing it as an ebook?
Yeah, it was a self-published book (though very highly regarded). I've heard that he had a lot of miscellaneous writings and memoirs as well (he spent time as a journalist), I was thinking those would make very interesting reading.
Help! Do you know how I can get a copy of his book? He had given my father a copy before my dad died but I am unable to locate it. I want to purchase one but can't find it at the bookstores.
Sadly, no, I don't. My parents have a copy of it, but otherwise it's quite hard to find. However, some libraries (especially in Hawaii) may have it, and I'd be very surprised if the Japanese American Museum didn't either have a copy or know where a publically available one exists.
