Grey's Anatomy: What's with all the whiteys?

Right now I'm watching a re-run of Lost, and they had a commercial for the new ABC medical drama "Grey's Anatomy". It appears to be about an overly attractive group of residents dealing with sexual tension at an urban hospital. It also appears to be crap.

I don't know exactly what bothers me about it, except that it seems to be mostly about sex which, despite my general interest in the subject, makes for pretty cheap television. And usually when it's just about sex, the sacrifice is good characters which is the real heart of good television.

But there's something else that bothers me about this show. The cast is "diverse" which means they have White people and Black people. And an Asian. But there's no Indian's on the cast. And if you've been to the hospital lately, you might know there's actually lots of Indian doctors. Lots of them.

And this would be fine, not giving in to racial stereotypes and all, except that Hollywood has never had any problem casting Indians as taxi drivers and convenience store clerks. But when it's a white-collar type job, nowhere to be found. And this is true of all the medical dramas I've seen. I mean, "ER" was on for close to a decade before they finally got around to adding a single Indian to the cast. So, boooooo television.
